The identification can be performed by:
ADACOM is a Registration Authority (RA) and its authorized employee, may conduct a review of Subscriber’s Identity documents, information and signature in the relevant Application Form. If the verification documents are correct, RA will approve the Certificate Application and proceed to the certificate issuance.
A Local Registration Authority (LRA) is an entity that performs the identification and validation of Subscribers and Subjects and the initial examination of their respective documents for the issuance, re-keying and revocation of Certificates.
ADACOM may enter into a contractual relationship with one or more third parties, in order to outsource part of RA responsibilities, especially regarding the validation of the Subscriber. In this case, the third party constitutes a Local Registration Authority (LRA). LRA performs its responsibilities in full compliance with ADACOM CP/CPS, the respective Validation plans and the terms of the LRA Agreement signed between LRA and ADACOM.
The relationship between ADACOM, LRA and RA is described in the LRA’s agreement and includes, but not limited, the following:
Local Registration Authority passes all Subscriber’s applications or requests accompanied by the related documents to the Registration Authority for approval or rejection of Certificate issuance, rekeying or revocation.
ADACOM trains LRA’s authorized employees on validation process and security procedures, prior starting LRA’s related operations and performs yearly re-training thereafter.
ADACOM performs yearly audits to the LRA operations and procedures in order to ensure compliance with ADACOM CP/CPS, the Validation Plans and the LRA Agreement.
ADACOM has currently deployed and successfully audited a Remote ID Verification solution. This solution follows ministerial decree no. 27499 ΕX/2021 and allows the Subscriber to identify himself remotely through an automated video call or through a scheduled teleconference with an Agent using his computer, tablet or smartphone.
The Remote ID Proofing services will be provided on an 8x5 basis (working days only, 09:00 to 17:00 GMT+3).
The Subscriber's data is collected through an automated video call (dynamic selfie) without the presence of an ADACOM agent; the agent checks this data at a later time.
Automated video call without agent:
With this method, the Subscriber's data and video is collected by an information system without the presence of an agent. An Agent will check this data later.
If the automated video call is unsuccessful multiple times, the Subscriber has the option to have a real-time face-to-face teleconference with an ADACOM agent.
Teleconference with Agent:
When the automated video call is unsuccessful, the Subscriber has the option to conduct a teleconference with an ADACOM agent, where both the Subscriber and the agent communicate face-to-face in real-time through a teleconference.
ADACOM’s Registration Authority (RA) employee will make the final decision about the verification of the Subscriber’s identity. After the successful registration of the Subscriber, the RA will approve the Subscriber’s request for Qualified/Advanced certificate and the certificate will be issued automatically by ADACOM CA.
After the successful verification of the Subscriber’s identity, the RA must store securely all relevant data for at least seven (7) years from the expiration of the certificate, which must be available to the eIDAS auditor at any time.
