Change related to the phasing out of the RSA 2048-bit algorithm from 1st October 2025
Ιn compliance with European standards and specifically the new version of the ETSI TS 119 312 standard (version 1.5.1), ADACOM will proceed with phasing out the use of the RSA 2048-bit algorithm.
In this context:
- As of 1st October 2025, all new certificates will be issued using a stronger encryption algorithm (RSA 4096-bit), for even greater security.
- Existing certificates using RSA 2048-bit will remain valid until their expiration date.
- We have already conducted technical checks to ensure a smooth transition with no impact on the performance of our services.
No action is required on your part, as electronic signatures and seals already issued will not be affected, and you may continue to use them as usual until their expiration date.
* Users who are still using e-Tokens, please verify that your device supports this change. For example, for Thales/SafeNet models, you can easily do this by opening SAC → selecting your token → clicking on Advanced View, and under Details, checking the Supported Key Size — it should list 4096 bits
For any clarification, we are at your disposal.
